  12. There are certain methods you can use to stop the leak until your chosen plumber arrives, however if you find the stopcock and turn the water off to start with this is generally the most effective and the safest. Make sure as a homeowner or the manager of business premises that you are aware of where the stopcock valve is in your property.

  14. It's pretty scary when your pipe bursts, and water sprays everywhere! What causes that, pressure in the pipes? We have a leaking pipe, and we're worried that some damages could ensue if we just leave it. Definitely going to call up our trusted plumber to take a look at it.

  20. Thanks for the information! A burst pipe is actually one of my irrational fears. Even though I've never experienced it, I always wonder what I would do if it did happen. I'd probably panic and try to stuff towels in the hole-- these ideas are much better.

  24. My mom just had a bit of trouble with one of the pipes in her house cracking do to too much pressure. I don't know how the pipe was blocked exactly, all I know is that the pressure around the clog was too great for the small pipe to take. She still doesn't have it fixed yet, but we are hoping it will be soon.
